Delete Your Account
This page explains how to delete your Know Your Skin account and what data is removed. You can delete your account at any time, without contacting us.
Option 1 — From inside the app (recommended)
- Open the Know Your Skin app.
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted.
Your account is removed immediately and you are signed out.
Option 2 — By email
If you no longer have access to the app, email
privacy@knowyourskin.app
from the address registered on your account with the subject line
Delete my account. We verify the request matches a real
account and then delete it.
What gets deleted
The following data is permanently removed:
- Your account (email, display name, hashed password or OAuth identifier).
- Your skin profile (skin type, concerns, sensitivities, date of birth, country, and any other profile fields you filled in).
- Your product shelf and routines.
- Journal entries, mood ratings, and skin tracking history.
- Photos you uploaded (product scans, progress photos, selfies).
- Push notification tokens and device identifiers linked to your account.
What may be retained
We retain a minimal amount of information only where required by law or to prevent abuse:
- Transaction and billing records required by tax or accounting law (no payment card data; those are handled by Apple or Google).
- Aggregate, anonymized usage statistics that cannot be used to re-identify you.
- Records of violations of our Terms of Service, retained to prevent the same actor from signing up again.
After deletion
Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered. If you want to use the app again in the future you'll need to create a new account and rebuild your shelf and journal from scratch.
